The FITSU works closely with the Terminology unit of the Federal Chancellery to create and update terminological works in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT).
The Federal Chancellery runs a terminology database called TERMDAT.
The FITSU has devised two terminology products for ICT: the federal IT Terminology and ICT TERM:
An electronic IT dictionary with approx. 10,000 terms and definitions from a wide range of IT-related fields such as project management, eGovernment, system architectures, etc.
The German terms are listed in alphabetical order alongside their equivalents in French, Italian and English.
This glossary has been published by the FITSU and the Federal Chancellery. The document is by no means complete, however. We therefore invite all users to send their support in the form of criticism, comments and suggestions to the following address (re: Federal Administration's IT Glossary):
A translation aid with approx. 700 selected ICT terms. ICT TERM does not contain any definitions like an IT glossary. The terms are listed alphabetically in each of the various languages (German, French, Italian, English).
This is published by the FITSU, the Federal Chancellery's Terminology unit, and i-CH.
Problems or suggestions for terms to be changed/added may be addressed to (re: ICT TERM 2004):
