The Framework Agreement on eGovernment Cooperation in Switzerland governs the common approach taken by the Confederation, the cantons, and the municipalities in their implementation of the eGovernment Strategy Switzerland for the years 2007 to 2011.
A Steering Committee with three high-ranking representatives each from the Confederation, the cantons, and the municipalities constitutes the core of this organisation.
As the administrative unit of the Steering Committee, an eGovernment Switzerland Secretariat contained within the Federal Strategy Unit for IT (FITSU) will coordinate implementation of the strategy.
In addition to an Advisory Council, the expanded organisational structure includes the Swiss IT Conference (SIK/CSI) and the eCH standardisation association.
The Plenary Assembly of the Conference of the Cantonal Governments of Switzerland (CCG) agreed to the Framework Agreement in June 2007. The Federal Council adopted the Agreement on 29 August 2007.
