The Federal Administration has its own IT Controlling (ICO) method, which is integrated into the IT processes, namely in process P04. The ICO method supports IT controlling at the three levels of office, department, and Confederation.

ICO Method Version 4.5 was released by the Federal IT Council (FITC) on 28 January 2008 and standardised (Standard P008).
