The Internet Strategy 2010 of the Confederation follows on from the Internet Strategy 2003 of the Confederation and from its successful implementation. Having brought the sites up to their optimum performance (in terms of improved usability, more efficient distribution of news, new search machines), it is now a matter of making web use more professional in the communication area: information management over the entire life cycle, attractive presentation, user participation, efficient collaboration between the areas of media and communications, webmasters and IT.
The Conference of IT Managers in the Departments (CID) adopted the Internet Strategy on 27 May 2003 and commissioned the Federal Webforum to implement certain measures. This has resulted in the following projects that have already been implemented:
Usability
Improvement of the user-friendliness and accessibility of the websites.
Media portal
Central access for Swiss and foreign media.
Search better, find faster
Replacement of the Altavista search engine used throughout the Federal Administration with a search infrastructure meeting current needs.
Recognisability
Introduction of a uniform appearance, so that websites of the Federal Administration are clearly recognisable and perceived as such.
