The Federal IT Steering Unit (FITSU) ensures implementation of the information and communication technologies (ICT) strategy in the Federal Administration. For this purpose, it issues guidelines for the administrative units and manages the ICT standard services. The FITSU also manages the eGovernment Switzerland Programme Office as well as the Reporting and Analysis Centre for Information Assurance (MELANI).

Establishment of cyber security competence centre one step further

15.05.2019 - The Federal Council adopted the implementation plan for the 2018–2022 national strategy for the protection of Switzerland against cyber risks (NCS) and thereby made further decisions on the establishment of the competence centre for cyber security. At the same time, the Federal Council decided to strengthen human resources in the area of cyber risks with an extra 24 posts.

Implementation status of the Federal ICT strategy

22.03.2019 -  The Federal Council has taken note of the strategic ICT controlling report as at 31 December 2018. The report provides information on the current implementation status of the federal ICT Strategy 2016-2019. The Federal Council has also adopted the ICT Master plan 2019 and defined the current ICT key projects.

Key figures for the Swiss eGovernment Strategy 2020-2023

14.11.2018 - The Federal Council approved the key figures for the Swiss eGovernment Strategy 2020-2023 drawn up by the interfederal organisation eGovernment Switzerland. By adopting the «Digital First» mission statement, it underscores the importance of the electronic channel, through which the administration will in future primarily offer its information and services.
