The Federal IT Steering Unit (FITSU) ensures implementation of the information and communication technologies (ICT) strategy in the Federal Administration. For this purpose, it issues guidelines for the administrative units and manages the ICT standard services. The FITSU also manages the eGovernment Switzerland Programme Office as well as the Reporting and Analysis Centre for Information Assurance (MELANI).

By adopting the ┬źDigital First┬╗ mission statement, it underscores the importance of the electronic channel, through which the administration will in future primarily offer its information and services.

Whoever uses the same password more than once, helps attackers

08.11.2018 - The 27th semi-annual report of the Reporting and Analysis Centre for Information Assurance (MELANI) addresses the most important cyber incidents of the first half of 2018 both in Switzerland and abroad. The key topic is dedicated to the vulnerabilities in hardware. The focus is also on targeted malware attacks, for which the name of the Spiez Laboratory was misused, as well as various data leaks and the problem of multiple use of a password.

Survey of participation in NCS implementation plan

06.08.2018 - The implementation of the national strategy for the protection of Switzerland against cyber risks (NCS) is forging ahead. The Confederation is preparing the NCS implementation plan together with the cantons, businesses and higher education institutions. As part of this process, the FITSU has invited all interested players to register to participate in the NCS implementation via an online survey. The survey was implemented from 6 to 17 August 2018.
