Federal Council

The Federal Council is responsible for the federal IT strategy. He determine and monitor the implementation of the Federal ICT Strategy.

The Federal Council shall:

  • determine the Federal ICT Strategy;

  • define the ICT standard services and their market model;

  • monitor implementation of the Federal ICT Strategy using strategic controlling and shall adopt measures where necessary;

  • define the areas in which ICT specifications are necessary or must be modified;

  • issue directives on ICT security;

  • shall, within the framework of the budget process, determine the allocation of centrally appropriated resources for ICT projects;

  • decide in the case of differences between the departments, the Federal Chancellery and the FITSU;

  • approve deviations from its specifications.
