Cyber risks arise when information and communication infrastructure is exposed to various threats as a result of weaknesses or vulnerabilities. As cyber risks are in the national interest for Switzerland,
the Federal Council adopted the national strategy for the protection of Switzerland against cyber risks (NCS) on 27 June 2012 as well as its 16-point implementation plan on 15 May 2013.
The annual report on the implementation of the NCS, which is the first one to be published, gives an overview of the current threat situation and provides information on the implementation status of the individual measures. A graphic representation of the measures and their implementation status is also provided in the NCS roadmap included in the annual plan.
