The Confederation's fixed-line telephone system has come to the end of its life cycle and needs to be replaced. A modern, forward-looking communication solution called Unified Communication & Collaboration (UCC) is introduced in its place. UCC provides for the integration of voice, mail and video conferencing for collaborative work and shared file repositories.
Introduction of UCC until 2017
The FITSU has started the program UCC to achieve the introduction of UCC in the Federal Administration (from 2014 to 2017). The first step in the programme is to change all fixed-line telephone numbers of the whole Federal Administration.
Programme UCC successfully completed
At the end of 2017, the FITSU successfully completed the ICT programme for the introduction of a new integrated communication solution UCC within budget. With the implementation of UCC on more than 43,000 workstations, the Federal Administration has merged telephony and IT and made new functionalities available to employees for mobile work.
