The Federal IT Steering Unit (FITSU) ensures implementation of the information and communication technologies (ICT) strategy in the Federal Administration.
Federal Information Technology Ordinance FITO
The Federal Information Technology Ordinance (FITO), which was adopted by the Federal Council on 9 December 2011, forms the basis for the Federal ICT Strategy. It sets out the tasks, competencies and responsibilities for ICT controlling and management at federal level.
The preparation and maintenance of IT strategies within the Federal Administration follow the Strategic IT Planning (SIP) procedural methodology.
Federal ICT Strategy 2016-2019
The Federal ICT Strategy shows how ICT use in the Federal Administration should develop. It defines strategic directions and targets. The Federal ICT Strategy for 2016 to 2019, was adopted by the Federal Council on 4 December 2015.
