The Federal IT Steering Unit (FITSU) ensures implementation of the information and communication technologies (ICT) strategy in the Federal Administration.
Federal Information Technology Ordinance FITO
The Federal Information Technology Ordinance (FITO), which was adopted by the Federal Council on 9 December 2011, forms the basis for the Federal ICT Strategy. It sets out the tasks, competencies and responsibilities for ICT controlling and management at federal level.
The preparation and maintenance of IT strategies within the Federal Administration follow the Strategic IT Planning (SIP) procedural methodology.
Federal ICT Strategy
The strategy ensures that ICT is oriented towards business affairs and is approved by the Federal Council every four years as a high-ranking general guideline for the management of ICT use within the Federal Administration.
